Marion Natural History Museum4 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum after school group had a wonderful time exploring what works (and what doesn't) when constructing a wooden sailboat. The students constructed their own boat, either a single hull or catamaran, and added a sail and keel. After decorating their vessels, students raced the boats down two long rain gutters filled with water. Many thanks to engineer Mark Whalen for yet another terrific program! RMS Students vs. Staff Basketball Game4 viewsTough luck again this year for the sixth graders at RMS during the annual students vs. staff basketball game on Friday night. Although students were able to tie the game and gain a temporary slight lead, in the end the staff’s moves took them down, 60-56. Fifth graders, it’s up to you next year! Photos by Deina Zartman

Marion Natural History Museum3 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's after school group each created an animal based on habitats, food sources, and climate at Wednesday's program. Robotic sharks, firebirds, and many more creatures were designed at the program. Many thanks to the volunteers who helped make the creations possible. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold

Turkey Trot 5K 3 viewsSunday was the morning of the annual Turkey Trot 5K in the center of Marion. Yes, it was rainy and windy, but the 80 turkeys (we mean participants) that showed up anyway still enjoyed the scenic village trot. Photos by Glenn C. Silva
