Flynn said that the event brought in more than $6,000 - monies that are earmarked for their scholarship fund. She said visitors were awed by the gardens graciously opened for viewing from iconic harbor homes to those set in peaceful rural uplands along the Mattapoisett River Valley. Marion 4th of July Horse Show299 viewsQuite the crowd cantered over to Washburn Park after the parade for the annual Marion 4th of July Horse Show. This is the 71st year of the horse show, which is supposedly the longest running horse show in the region.

Lions Club Triathlon299 viewsUnder merciful overcast skies on July 15, the 37th annual Lions Club Triathlon found 115 participants including seven relay teams vying for first place bragging rights. Coming in 1st place in the men’s division was Brian Hughes with a time of 51:38 minutes.
