ORR Lockdown272 viewsORR was in lockdown on Thursday, April 14, after the Mattapoisett Police Department received a call pertaining to a gunman at the school. According to Captain Anthony Days of the Mattapoisett Police, an out-of-state call center alerted them of an Internet chat about a person with a gun at the school. Miss Inspirational272 viewsThe Miss Inspirational program took to the ORR stage and stole the show on Friday, May 6, during a packed auditorium assembled to see 29 young women of all abilities showcase their talents and accomplishments. Miss South Coast, Jillian Zucco, coordinated the fundraising event as part of her progress towards the upcoming Miss Massachusetts pageant. Sunday, May 29, was a picture perfect day for a parade. Marion Village 5K272 viewsThe number of participants in this year’s Marion Village 5K might have been down slightly according to race organizers, but the sentiment of fun and competition certainly was not on Saturday, June 25. Taking first place for men was Andrew Sukeforth of Middleboro with a time of 15:43, and Meg Hughes of Rochester won first place in the women’s division with a time of 19:50. Rochester Country Fair 272 viewsThe Rochester Country Fair rolled into town on Thursday, August 18, filled the air with the sweet smells of Italian sausage and fried fair food, mixed with the smoke of diesel engines, and created that magical scent we all relish until the fair wrapped up on Sunday, August 21. Tractor pulls, animal shows, kids’ games, music, and wrestling (including the match between The Aardvark and Buck Chuck) delighted us while it lasted in the bucolic setting of Rochester, Massachusetts.
