Dollars raised pay for Music Festival fees and transportation, equipment purchase, repair and replacement, reed purchase and scholarship funds. National Night Out Against Crime279 viewsTuesday, August 2, was the annual National Night Out Against Crime on the school grounds of Old Rochester Regional. The Mattapoisett, Marion, and Rochester Police Departments were joined by the Tri-Town Fire and EMS Departments, Marion Harbormaster, and Marion Recreation. Turtle Care279 viewsSome of the residents of Jenney Lane at The Cove in Marion have found a new passion in rescuing diamond-backed terrapin eggs and safely releasing the hatchlings into the wild. A private neighborhood group, along with “Turtle Guy” Don Lewis and wife Sue Weiber Nourse, created a terrapin habitat restoration project knows as the turtle garden at The Cove. Family Fun Festival 279 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club held its first Family Fun Festival at Shipyard Park on Saturday, October 29, featuring some good old-fashioned fun and games. Behold, the locals who fit that description as they enjoy a frosty January 1st at Mattapoisett Town Beach for the annual Freezin’ for a Reason Polar Plunge! Hundreds lined the beach to take the plunge, with bundled spectators watching from the sidelines and cheering as the plungers charged ahead screaming and shrieking with exhilaration.
