The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. Amy Hartley-Matteson of Mattapoisett and Katherine Hartley of Rochester (2:11:14) won the women’s division for the third consecutive time – the second time they’ve three-peated. Award of Excellence297 viewsThe Mattapoisett Lions Club announced the recipient of 2013 Mattapoisett Lion’s Club Award of Excellence in the amount of $5,000. This year’s recipient is Colleen Packard a senior at Bishop Stang High School who will be attending George Washington University in the fall and will be majoring in chemistry. She is recognized for her work in community service, her goals when she completes her studies and her academic record.

Tri-Town Relay for Life297 viewsHundreds of residents attended the Tri-Town Relay for Life last weekend, raising nearly $40,000 for the American Cancer Society.
