The students learned that 10 bees weigh the same as one M&M, and how bees communicate by dancing. We explored beekeeping equipment and which hive box holds the queen and which holds the honey. The pinewood derby is a tradition that was started back in 1963 in Manhattan Beach, California and persists to this day.
