Frosty Runner Road Race217 viewsRunners who participated in the third annual Frosty Runner Road Race enjoyed spring-like weather, perfect for a 10 mile or 3 mile run through the neighborhoods of Rochester. The two separate races were run simultaneously, beginning and ending at Old Colony Regional Vocational Technical High School on Saturday February 1. Olde Field Farm217 viewsThe Mattapoisett Land Trust and the Rochester Land hosted a joint walk at the Olde Field Farm property on the afternoon of Sunday, February 23. Hikers walked through the pinewood trails and through the frozen wetlands surrounding the Mattapoisett River, looking for animal tracks in the snow and admiring the natural beauty Rochester has to offer. Relay for Life217 viewsIt rained down hard the night of the 9th annual Relay for Life at Old Rochester Regional, soaking the ground, the tents, and the participants – but it didn’t stop anyone from coming out anyway to walk for a cure and honor those who have battled cancer. Intro to TV Production217 viewsAs a culminating activity, Old Rochester Regional High School students in Intro to TV Production, Video Journalism and Bulldog TV, traveled to Boston to view a live broadcast of the noon news at WBZ-TV, a CBS affiliate. Mike Noyce, set designer at WBZ led the group on a tour of the facility. Students were able to view the live broadcast of the news both from the control room and in the studio. After the newscast, anchor Paula Ebben and Meteorologist Barry Burbank fielded questions from the group.

Wienermobile at Ned's Point217 viewsThose enjoying the afternoon at Ned’s Point Lighthouse on Sunday, August 17 did a double take when they suddenly saw a sight they were not expecting to see — a giant wiener on wheels parked alongside the Ned’s Point lighthouse.
