Betty Beaulieu, water colorist and local historian, donated one of her paintings for a silent auction. Bids will be accepted every Sunday between 1:00-3:00 pm through October at the Rochester Historical Museum located at 355 County Road. Rochester turned 340 393 viewsHey, hey, it’s your birthday, Rochester! Rochester turned 340 years old on June 4, and the third grade class from RMS was invited to celebrate with some cake and ice cream at the senior center on Tuesday. Students started the day with a tour around historic Rochester before breaking for lunch and sharing a large birthday cake with seniors. Rochester Country Fair392 viewsRochesters Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez.

RMS Basketball392 viewsIt was a pretty close game, 67-59, at Rochester Memorial School on January 23. It was the annual sixth grade vs. staff basketball game, and this year it was attended by a record crowd. $370 was raised for the Nurse Thayer Scholarship Fund. “It was a great event,” said RMS Principal Derek Medeiros. “It’s all about the engagement, and seeing all those people there was great.” Photos by Jean Perry
