Marion Halloween Parade 2017278 viewsHalloween in the Marion village is one event that shouldn’t be missed! Hundreds upon hundreds of little ghosts, ghouls, and goblins took to the streets to show off their costumes and follow it up with some treats (no tricks) and refreshments at the Marion Music Hall, sponsored by those very kind witches at the Marion Art Center. The Sippican School students led the parade under the direction of Hannah Moore. Photo by Paul Lopes

Marion Natural History Museum278 viewsThe Marion Natural History Museum's Coastal Exploration summer program had a lot of fun last week exploring a variety of habitats in Marion. We took a close look at barrier beaches, vernal pools, salt marshes, and tide pools. We learned about the terns on Bird Island, the salamanders and tadpoles in vernal pools, and netted fish along the coastline. Photo courtesy Elizabeth Leidhold

Field Day Fun at Sippican School 277 viewsFriday morning we caught some first-graders in the middle of a hula-hoop relay on the grounds of Sippican School. Holding hands and cheering each other on, the kids twisted and turned themselves through the hoops and the first team to get their hoop to travel down and up the line again won the relay. Can you guess which team won? Photo by Jean Perry

Marion Master Plan277 viewsMarion took its first step toward developing a new Marion Master Plan on September 27 by having residents and town officials alike gather to review past master plans and split into focus groups to devise a new vision for Marion. Many agreed that the current Master Plan is still relevant, with the majority concerned mostly with preserving the historic character of the town.
