Pinewood Derby316 viewsOn Saturday, March 2nd 2013, The Cubs Scout Pack 32 held a pinewood derby at the Community Hall of the Congregational Church in Marion. The results were 1st Lucas Marcolini, 2nd Brendan Hubbard, 3rd Nathaniel Bangs, and 4th Nate Robertson. All four move on to regional finals in New Bedford later this month. SLT Arbor Day316 viewsChildren and parents came together Saturday, April 27th to help the Sippican Lands Trust (SLT) and The Trustees of Reservations (TTOR) plant Atlantic White Cedar saplings in an initiative to re-introduce this rare, native species back onto SLT and Town properties.

Big Trucks316 viewsDespite the soggy weather on Saturday, May 11th, close to 100 kids of all ages came to Marion Recreation’s Kid’s Equipment Day held at Town Field on Main Street. Kids were able to climb and explore a fire truck, ambulance, bucket truck, police cruiser, street sweeper and construction vehicles. All children received a free fire hat or construction hat. Many volunteers were on hand to assist the kids and to answer any questions.

The students were able to piece together some of the skeleton of a Loggerhead that washed up in Mattapoisett two years ago.
