Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. After spending several months in hospitals in Florida and Boston, the Tabor Academy graduate and member of the Holy Cross women's rowing team returned to her Pitcher Street residence to continue her recovery from severe injuries sustained in a January 15 collision with a pickup truck in Vero Beach that took the life of her teammate Grace Rett and injured her coach and several other teammat

Frank McNamee322 viewsFrank McNamee gave a talk on May 1 to the Marion Council on Aging entitled, “What’s in Your Attic?” at the Marion Police Station. He discussed many of the important objects that he discovered in attics of local homes and how much they were worth. He also appraised objects brought in by Council on Aging members as well as discussing the values of objects he brought in from his antiques shop. The speech was taped by the local cable station, ORCTV, channel 9 for Comcast, channel 36 for Verizon subscribers.
