Marion Holiday Stroll225 viewsThe Marion village streets were filled with holiday revelers on Sunday, December 9, for the annual Marion Holiday Stroll. Santa’s boat docked at the Marion Wharf where the faces of hundreds of children lit up at his arrival. Santa boarded a horse-drawn carriage and paraded through the streets, passing businesses offering free goodies and dodging the whereabouts of that old Grinch who didn’t seem to mind Christmas coming at all this year. Touch-A-Truck 225 viewsMarion Recreation held its 8th annual Touch-A-Truck event at Washburn Park on May 11. The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. Ton of Donations224 viewsOn Monday, December 8th Marion Cub Scout Pack 32, held a very successful drive for Gifts to Give Charity. The boys collected literally a “ton” of donations, approximately 2,000 pounds of toys, clothing and household goods! Gifts to Give provides a place for anyone, including children to give back to their local community, by donating gently used items and repurposing them for children in need.

Marion Village Estates224 viewsA fire at the Marion Village Estates off Front Street on February 19 caused major damage to several units at the 40B housing development in Marion.
