The turnout exceeded past Kids Equipment Fun Day events in Marion, especially last year’s, which was repeatedly postponed and then canceled altogether. Arts in the Park336 viewsThe Marion Art Center’s annual “Arts in the Park” event was greeted by a gorgeous weekend, as cars lined Marion’s streets and visitors strolled through Bicentennial Park, ducking into the shade of white tents to visit the many artisans and their goods. Santa's Arrival335 viewsMarion children gave a rock stars welcome to Santa Claus, who arrived at Marions Annual Holiday Stroll by boat on December 13. The pouring rain didnt stop Santa from spreading candy and holiday cheer to the crowd of exciting children. Over 20 girls dressed in their pink and red finest enjoyed dainty finger foods, festive cupcakes, red fruit punch, and tea. Police Dedication335 viewsThe public was invited to a building dedication and ceremony for the new Marion police station on July 10, 2010. The town appropriated $3.8 million for the new building, which replaces the old police station on Spring Street. Among those in attendance were Police Chief Lincoln Miller, the Marion police department, the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator Paul Dawson, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald and members of the Police Station Building Committee.
