Police Dedication353 viewsThe public was invited to a building dedication and ceremony for the new Marion police station on July 10, 2010. The town appropriated $3.8 million for the new building, which replaces the old police station on Spring Street. Among those in attendance were Police Chief Lincoln Miller, the Marion police department, the Board of Selectmen, Town Administrator Paul Dawson, Plymouth County Sheriff Joseph McDonald and members of the Police Station Building Committee. VIP Treatment353 viewsSeven-year-old Brady Weglowski from Mattapoisett was named VIP and given the title of Ambassador for a day as part of a program through Healing Little Hearts and Boston Children’s Hospital. Brady (right), who suffers from a congenital heart defect, and classmate Ty Dumas traveled by motorcade with diplomatic security to meet with Gov. Deval Patrick, who showed the children his collection of challenge coins. Patrick also provided Brady with a citation to commemorate the visit.

5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot353 viewsThere were 31 registered runners for this year’s 5th Annual 5K Turkey Trot for Marion Recreation on Sunday, November 22. The course takes runners from Tabor Academy down Front Street through the village and back again to Tabor.
