Great Picnic118 viewsAttendees at Friday night’s “Great Picnic” on the one-acre Munro preserve overlooking Mattapoisett Harbor enjoyed live music and adorned their tables with creatively competitive centerpieces featuring everything from a palm tree to pickleballs. Mattapoisett Land Trust Vice President Peter Davies told the Wanderer that the Mattapoisett Museum and the MLT have jointly organized the event for five nonconsecutive years. MBY Boat Parade118 viewsMattapoisett Harbormaster Jamie McIntosh and Assistant Harbormaster Robert Clavin rounded up the procession of over 100 boats, while Assistant Harbormaster P J Gerald Beaudoin and Deputies Luke Mello and Sydney Haskell led them around Mattapoisett Harbor during Sunday’s parade that featured the Jaguar tugboat that earlier this year took the Mayflower back to Plymouth. The flag has been on a tour of the country since 2021 stopping at Police and Fire Stations where ceremonies are held to remember the fallen firefighters and police officers whose service in the face of unspeakable horror should never be forgotten.
