Lions Club Triathlon167 viewsUnder merciful overcast skies on July 15, the 37th annual Lions Club Triathlon found 115 participants including seven relay teams vying for first place bragging rights. Coming in 1st place in the men’s division was Brian Hughes with a time of 51:38 minutes. Fire Station Groundbreaking167 viewsOn June 30 officials and community members held a ceremonial groundbreaking for the new Mattapoisett fire station adjacent to the police station on Route 6. Chief Andrew Murray thanked the voters and town boards for their overwhelming support after what he said was a nearly four-decade effort to secure funding for a safe, modern structure.
