The ceremony began with a service at the Veteran’s monument in front of the library, and then a parade assembled and marched to the town wharf and to Cushing Cemetery. Rows of vendors peddled their fun wares while visitors of all ages enjoyed music, conversation and the best strawberry shortcake in the world. Santa Arrives392 viewsMattapoisett held its annual holiday celebration and tree lighting on Saturday, December 5, 2009 at Shipyard Park. The rain couldn't dampen holiday spirits as visitors enjoyed delicious food and listened to Christmas music performed by the Showstoppers.
