Superintendent's Award554 viewsOn Tuesday, November 7, Old Rochester Regional School Superintendent Dr. Bill Cooper presented the 2007 Superintendent Award to ORR senior Charles Tucker Johnson. Tucker is the son of Mr. and Ms. Shep Johnson of Marion. The award is given to the highest ranking member of the senior class. In addition to his academic achievements, Tucker is actively involved in the Drama Club at the high school.

Early Thanksgiving554 viewsA group of student volunteers from Old Rochester Regional Junior High School once again served an early Thanksgiving dinner, replete with turkey and all the fixings, on Sunday, November 23 to senior citizens of Marion, Mattapoisett and Rochester. The annual Tri-Town Seniors Thanksgiving pre-holiday event was held inside the ORR Cafeteria and featured a fine meal, raffle and door prizes, and a chance to enjoy the fellowship of young and old alike. Sprinkler Activation at ORR554 viewsThe Mattapoisett and Marion Fire Departments responded to ORR High School at 10:03am on Friday May 8, for a reported fire alarm activation. Upon arrival they found that a sprinkler head had been activated in the auditorium due to heightened heat levels. The cause of the heat was found to be a stuck thermostat on a heater in that area. The students, who vacated the school when the fire alarm sounded, remained outside the school enjoying the warm sunny day as the fire department worked to resolve the issue.

Twelfth Night at RMS553 viewsStudents in the Grade 5 and 6 Drama Club at Rochester’s Memorial School rehearse for their annual Shakespeare production which will be performed under the direction of Danni Kleiman on Thursday, April 10 at 1:00 pm and again on Friday, April 11 at 7:00 pm at the school. This year the club will proudly present The Bard’s Twelfth Night featuring 22 actors and six stage crew members made up of Grade 5 and 6 students with two additional Grade 4 students involved in the production.
