Both members completed ten speeches from the Competent Communicator manual. Frost is from Plymouth and Galavotti is from Mattapoisett. Toastmasters provides public speaking and leadership training in a friendly, supportive environment.

The colors of summer will soon shift to the colors of fall in the harbor, but not before a few more opportunities to take out those kayaks and sailboats with friends and family. Supermoon Eclipse238 viewsA blood red Harvest Moon hangs above Ned’s Point in Mattapoisett where some people had a stellar view of the rare celestial event of a total lunar eclipse of a supermoon. Dozens came to watch the moon on Sunday night as it passed through the Earth’s shadow between 9:07 pm, when the partial eclipse began, and 12:27 am when the spectacle ended. Photo by Colin Veitch

Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride 238 viewsIt was a windy ride for the 120 participants of the 9th Annual Buzzards Bay Watershed Ride on October 4. From Westport to Falmouth, cyclists rode either the 75-mile or 35-mile route to raise funds for the Buzzards Bay Coalition, bringing in nearly $90,000. Riders paused at Eastover Farm in Rochester for a lunch break before continuing on for the remaining 35 miles. Photos by Colin Veitch
