Beatlemania in Mattapoisett699 viewsJim Cushman of Mattapoisett, an avid Beatles collector, poses alongside a shirt worn by the late John Lennon during the recording of his final album Double Fantasy. Cushman obtained the shirt from Richard Carlson, a guitar tech at the Hit Factory in New York where the sessions were recorded, who received the shirt as a gift from Lennon himself. The bacon looks like the Seahorse!" Living Logo698 viewsMembers of Mattapoisett’s 150th Garden Group recently posed for this aerial shot of the sesquicentennial logo they recreated out of plantings at Shipyard Park. The group members have put in countless hours planting this and other beds from Shipyard Park to Ned’s Point to commemorate the town’s 150th birthday. Party Parade698 viewsOne of the unique floats in Mattapoisett’s 150th Sesquicentennial Parade, created and sponsored by Little People’s College, extends a “Happy Birthday” wish to the town and its residents. The sprawling three-division parade boasting two marching bands was held on Saturday morning, August 4 and traveled from the Mattapoisett Town Hall through the village area, drawing hundreds of spectators along the way. TriTown Happenings698 viewsIt’s a busy time of year in the TriTown with events including the musical “Adventures in Love” this Thursday and Friday at ORR. Shakespeare’s “The Tempest” was performed at Rochester Memorial School and the Dixie Diehard’s played at the Marion Art Center this past weekend. Despite the rain there was a huge turn out for the Mattapoisett Youth Baseball season opener. (May 7, 2009 Edition)
