Madison was accompanied by her mother, Kate Ostneberg, who was the millionth and one visitor to the zoo. Kate and Madison received a free zoo membership, a $100 shopping spree at the North Woods Gift Store, a train ride around the zoo, and lunch at the Bear’s Den Café.Nov 29, 2005

Mr. Barker has maintained a lifelong fascination with the whaling ship which dates back to his father’s finding artifacts from the historic vessel floating in the water just after it was destroyed on the rocks off Cuttyhunk Island in 1924.
