Reddy became interested in plastics in 2008 when he worked with Dr. Kara Lavender Law at Sea Education Association to study the distribution and chemical composition of plastic in the North Atlantic Ocean. Michelle Skaar of the library’s young adult programming invited the makeup artist for her teen group, but it quickly became apparent that mask making is a cross-generational activity.
