Rochester Council on Aging207 viewsIt was thanksgiving in May as the Rochester Council on Aging (COA) hosted an appreciation celebration honoring volunteers on May 31. Balloons and festive tables, a three course meal catered by New Bedford’s Riccardi’s, music by the Relics (courtesy of the Rochester Cultural Council) certificates of appreciation and 175 gifts (one for each volunteer) were all part of the celebration.Jun 05, 2013

Rochester Green Ways 206 viewsOn Wednesday, May15th the Rochester Green Ways Committee met to work on its Wildflower Garden in the center of town. Members cleaned up winter debris, weeded the beds that are filled with native and introduced plants that are called weeds by some and planted new seed for this and future years beauty. This is a necessary chore that was enhanced by the fact that it was held on the state and national Plant Something Day. May 21, 2013

Big Trucks216 viewsDespite the soggy weather on Saturday, May 11th, close to 100 kids of all ages came to Marion Recreation’s Kid’s Equipment Day held at Town Field on Main Street. Kids were able to climb and explore a fire truck, ambulance, bucket truck, police cruiser, street sweeper and construction vehicles. All children received a free fire hat or construction hat. Many volunteers were on hand to assist the kids and to answer any questions. May 15, 2013
