Rachel's Challenge63 viewsMattapoisett grade school students sat with rapt attention on November 9, 2009 as they learned about Rachel Scott. Rachel's life was taken in the Columbine High School shootings, but her legacy of kindness lives on in the "Rachel's Challenge" program, which is designed to promote compassion among children. The program was mostly funded by a grant from the League of Women Voters. Photo by Anne O'Brien-Kakley.

Camper Fire90 viewsThe Mattapoisett Fire Department responded to a fire involving a camper at 110 Marion Road at 5:30 pm on Wednesday, November 4, 2009. A shed and a truck on the scene were also damaged in the fire. According to Chief Murray, the structures and vehicle were all clustered closely together in a remote area on the property and were fully involved on arrival.
