It was some tween fun at Old Rochester Regional High School on Sunday, September 5, 2010 when the school’s varsity cheerleaders provided a cheer clinic fundraiser for young, aspiring cheerleaders. These younger cheerleaders will join the varsity squad at the ORR/Nauset football game on September 11, at the ORR David Hagen field at 7:00 pm. Children enjoyed cotton candy, a bounce house and face-painting, while the grown-ups enjoyed conversation and good weather. Yee Haw, Maw!450 viewsRochester’s Country Fair was a great success despite the cancellation of the Town Ball Game, Woodsman Show, the Block dance and the Bonfire due to EEE. The weather was perfect on Saturday as children raced frogs, climbed walls, bounced in castles and much more. Although the weather was less than perfect on Sunday, residents lined the streets with lawn chairs and umbrellas to watch as the Hillbilly themed parade passed. Photos by Felix Perez. The Mattapoisett, Marion and Rochester Boards of Health canceled all evening activities on town grounds, and announced 6:00 pm closures of ball parks, playgrounds and town beaches as a result of what the state is calling a public health threat.

The town appropriated $3.8 million for the new building, which replaces the old police station on Spring Street.
