The day began with a parade from the Dexter Lane baseball complex down to Plumb Corner and a short distance along Mary’s Pond Road to Gifford Park, where a giant American flag hovered over the electronic scoreboard displaying the date 5-7-22, the first Opening Day for ORYB since 2019. Volunteers at Sippican Elementary79 viewsVolunteers at Sippican Elementary (VASE) hosted their fourth Boosterthon Fun Run fundraiser last week. VASE works with Booster, a company that helps raise funds for enrichment activities such as in-school performances, field trips and afterschool programs. Students reached out to friends, family and businesses across 30 states and 7 countries; 87 percent of the student body registered with 79 percent earning donations for Sippican.

The Warriors earned their spot in the championship game with a big, 10-2 victory over the Heat, while the Knicks advanced to the title game, narrowly edging the Celtics, 10-8. Library Director Jennifer Jones prepared and served vegan substitutes of chicken, hot dogs, sausage, and lunchmeat. The participants nibbled each offering with great anticipation.
