Learning From The Past
Third Grade students at Rochester’s Memorial School recently got acquainted with Rochester’s rich, historic past thanks to members of the Rochester Historical Commission. Students were treated to a hands-on experience with old toys, primitive household items and educational tools, and learned about early church customs, Rochester’s Native Americans, and changes in the town boundaries as Marion, Mattapoisett, and Wareham eventually broke off from the large township of Rochester to form their own towns.
