* Food And Toy Drive - The Lions Club will once again this year be participating in the town's " Holiday in the Park", scheduled for Saturday, December 5 from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. We will be collecting canned goods and new unwrapped toys. So as you walk around Shipyard Park on that Saturday morning and look out into the harbor, give thanks for what you have and please remember those less fortunate.
* Under the Chairmanship of Dr. Clay King and co-chair Bill Calusine, the Lions Club held its first annual Harvest Dinner and Antiques Road show with antiques appraiser Henry Callan. Over eighty guests attended the event bringing in many unusual and treasured items for appraisal and one guest was very surprised when her painting was appraised at well over $5000.
* On Wednesday October 28, Gary Johnson from The Mattapoisett Land Trust was the guest speaker and surprised us with a fifteen-question quiz concerning the Land Trust and our town. Quiz winner Paul Stubbs received a Land Trust t-shirt and we all gained valuable information.
* Please mark your calendars - due to the two holidays in November, we will only have one regular meeting, on November 18.
Due to an overwhelming demand for events to be listed on our bulletin board located on the corner of route 6 and North St, please send your requests for events listings at least two weeks prior to the event to Mattapoisett Lions Club P.O. Box 1022, Mattapoisett,Ma 02739. Listings are subject to space availability.
