As a result of a narcotics investigation the Mattapoisett Police Department executed 3 search warrants resulting in the arrest of Matthew Weckesser, age 17 of 464 Walnut Plain Rd, Rochester and Kalvin Ferreira, age 17 of 205 Ocean Meadows, Fairhaven. During the investigation Narcotic Officers observed Weckesser engage in hand-to-hand drug transactions on multiple occasions. In addition, narcotic officers facilitated controlled purchases of marijuana from Weckesser on several occasions.
On 09/28/12 at approximately 6:00 PM the Mattapoisett Police executed a search warrant of Weckesser, his 2010 Honda Civic and all occupants of the vehicle after they were observed leaving a residence in Mattapoisett known for its drug activity. During the search of the vehicle and all occupants, Narcotics Officers seized marijuana, scales, packaging material and drug paraphernalia. As a result of the search warrant, Ferreira was placed under arrest for possession of a class D substance with the intent to distribute.
Following the search of the vehicle, Officers immediately proceeded to Weckesser’s residence located at 464 Walnut Plain Rd Rochester, MA to execute an additional search warrant. As a result of the search warrant of the residence officer’s located marijuana in multiple rooms of the house including a closet located in the basement equipped with racks and fans for drying of marijuana. At that time there was approximately a pound of fresh marijuana drying in the closet. In addition, Narcotics officers also seized hashish, packaging material and additional drug paraphernalia as a result of the search.
As a result of the search warrant of the residence Weckesser was placed under arrest by the Rochester Police Department and subsequently charged with possession of a class D controlled substance with the intent to distribute.
In total officers seized over 1 pound of Marijuana, small amounts of hashish, and US Currency.
Rochester Police Department, members of the Bristol County Sherriff’s Office South Coast Anti-Crime Task Force, Marion Police Department, and Plymouth County Sherrifs K-9 assisted with the investigation.
