Are they really going to hold up the project over an ice cream window? Are you guys serious? It's an ice cream window!!! What is wrong with you people? Why is it that everytime a business comes into town that it becomes a big debate? Why can't business's come into town without BS? Why is it that the these boards can't accept change? This is the new economy that we all live in, and you guys are going to stop a revenue generating business over an ice cream window? You all should be fired!

" ... in the village and surrounding areas."

What does that mean exactly? Are those of us who live north of I-195 considered the "surrounding areas"? Will our trees be sprayed as well? And how about down the areas on the water side of I-195 that aren't " ... in the village and surrounding areas" -- do they get sprayed, or is the town taking care of just those particular sections of town mentioned in the press release? I know that the U.S. Census Bureau has two listings for where we live -- Town of Mattapoisett and Mattapoisett Village; is that how town officials see it? I always thought I lived in Mattapoisett, period.

Interesting, I didn't know that some of the people headed south! My mother's ancestors fled to St.Francis when Capt.Lovewell attacked then returned to the area when Roger's Rangers attacked. My greatgrandmother grew up in Hiram on the Saco (1890's) and was at the last Fish-In, grandfather's side descended from Molly Ockett's sister who grew up in Bethel.

Dear Doris,

Since you called last night, I have been immersed in memories. From Silverlake to Melrose where we were upstairs/downstairs neighbors with our first babies and afternoon coffee after school everyday. And, of course the visits to Peabody. I remember best Bob's good nature and endearing smile.

It is too long a distance for me to drive, so I won't be coming down, but I'll be thinking of you, Steven, Davis, and Laurie.

Love,

Sally

Here we go again, more BS by the town. It's been 10+ years of fighting the 40B, and guess what, it's still going to be put into town. Just like the Dunkin Donuts, the town fought it, and Dunkin Donuts won. This battle against the 40B is going to be lost by the town, and lets not forget it's required by Massachusetts Law. The ZBA is a bunch of power hungry fools, that make the lives of people in this town miserable, and HATE change. Par for the course for this town though.

Hi Ms. Ashley,
I would like to know the types of activities that your summer program offers to the students to engage them in learning. I work as an ESL tutor in Louisiana and was told that we would be holding a summer program for our students in July, but I' would love to pick your brain and know what exactly you have planned for your students. Thanks for any and all input that you are willing to share.

April 30, 2012

To the editor:

Last Thursday evening, at the second Entertainment Application Hearing, the Board of Selectmen unanimously affirmed the Entertainment License application that had been recently presented to the Town officials by Nils Johnson.

At the beginning of the meeting Mr. Johnson and the Board of Selectmen had acknowledged that they had read letters, and emails which voiced townwide concern as to the Entertainment application as stated. The Selectmen also stated that they received many phone calls voicing concern.

It was heartening to hear Mr. Johnson state that entertainment “is only a small part of what we do” and state clearly how special Mattapoisett is, and always has been to him.

The Selectmen cautioned Mr. Johnson and Ms. Perry as the tremendous responsibility that these licenses carry with them.

We want to congratulate Mr. Johnson and Ms. Perry, and wish them the best of luck as they pursue their dream of the Inn at Shipyard Park.

Sincerely,
Maureen Butler
